hi this is dan sato for Footloose
reviews the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle
is a luxury hotel built on a pier so it
actually extends over the water here's
the lobby and the check-in every member
of the staff we met was very nice very
courteous and helpful here's more of the
lobby you can't see out the window in
the shot but it was very rainy the first
day we were there here's what it looked
like the next morning when the weather
was nicer so even if your room doesn't
face the water you can still come down
to the lobby and enjoy a beautiful view
of Puget Sound the hallways are long and
narrow like most hotels
now here's our room a dockside junior
suite we got lucky and were upgraded due
to availability
there's a gas fireplace already turned
on for us it comes with a king-sized
canopy bid a writing-desk the bathroom
you
the shower has these beautiful stone
tiles and is doorless so the water does
splash out a little onto the floor but
you just put down a towel and that's no
problem
body wash conditioner shampoo this
arraign style shower head
that's a robe hook
on the sink you have a little bar of
soap facial tissue there's a bowl type
sink lotion and q-tips and cotton
squares that magnifying mirror lights up
there's a blow-dryer underneath you
don't see them here but the bathroom has
a pair of sliding frosted glass doors on
the bed they have a little teddy bear
that is available for purchase
here's another look at the gas fireplace
that thing is really warm
there's a high-definition TV which gets
HBO as well as pay-per-view movies under
the TV's and minibar next to the TV are
some snacks - the ice bucket and
glassware is in a drawer under the TV as
well coffee maker is left of the TV
there are at least four electrical
outlets in the room that aren't already
being used plus two more in the bathroom
there's the thermostat that blew lit
button turns on the fireplace there's a
carbon monoxide detector and fire
sprinklers your door has a sturdy
looking door guard in addition to the
locking door knob and people in the
closet there are two luggage stands a
safe an iron and hotel slippers wholesale ironing board and two
bathrobes you can ask for complimentary
slippers if you want I forgot my razor
and shaving cream and they provided them
for free here's the view from our room
that there is pier 66 a terminal for
cruise ships
the patio runs the length of the room
you get a great view of Puget Sound as
you can see it was a rainy December day
but still very nice to look at night
stand with an alarm let's look at the
writing desk again here are two of the
available electrical outlets
conveniently located for charging your
phone or powering a laptop here's a page
from the book of services and amenities
including bikes they can loan you
massages and laundry services something
not listed here is something really
unusual you can check out a guitar
acoustic or electric and bring it up to
your room ask at the desk this is in
line with their long history of hosting
rock stars including the Beatles
there they are in 1964 fishing from the
window of their suite other guests
include Led Zeppelin the Rolling Stones
Stevie Wonder and many others these
photos are from the lobby's Wall of Fame
just off the lobby is the gift shop
where you can buy artwork Edgewater
branded merchandise
a variety of gifts you can buy snacks
cold drinks and any little necessaries
you may need like batteries or Advil a
couple of important details about the
hotel they charge an amenity fee that
isn't really optional but it's for Wi-Fi
and access to all of their facilities
pets are welcomed if you pay a $25
deposit details are on the website
here's the fitness center the TV in
there didn't work the evening I was
there but there was no competition for
the exercise machines or the free
weights there's no swimming pool by the
way because the hotel slippers wholesale is built on a pier
which makes a pool impractical the
business center is nothing special they
do however have meeting rooms small and
large for business guests as well as
ballrooms for large parties like the
wedding that was going on the evening
that we were there the hotel has a very
good restaurant 6/7 it features lovely
views and good food be aware though that
they tack on an arbitrary surcharge for
maintenance you might be able to swing a
complimentary breakfast through your
travel service we did the lounge
attached to the restaurant has won a
best hotel bar award for four
non-consecutive years and features live
music every night
there's nothing of interest in the area
immediately in front of the hotel but
it's only a 15-minute walk south to Pike
Place Market or the waterfront featuring
the great wheel if the weather is nice
it's a 20-minute walk through downtown
to Westlake Center there's also a
shuttle that leaves every two hours and
makes four stops including Pike Place
Market and the Space Needle and also
just so you know the train tracks run
right in front of the hotel so you might
hear trains more on the city view side
than the water view side it didn't
bother us so that's the Edgewater
overall really a very nice hotel with
top-notch services I highly recommend it
if you're visiting Seattle thanks for
watching
