![]() Scientific visualization (also spelled scientific visualisation) is an interdisciplinary branch of science, primarily concerned with the visualization of three dimensional phenomena, such as architectural, meteorological, medical, biological systems. The emphasis is on realistic rendering of volumes, surfaces, illumination sources, and so forth, perhaps with a dynamic (time) component. Scientific visualization focuses on the use of computer graphics to create visual images which aid in understanding of complex, often massive numerical representation of scientific concepts or results. |
