报告题目：Micro-CT Imaging of Plant Leaves and Optimizing Plane Fitting in Multi-view Stereo Image Reconstruction

摘要：Dr. Max will show a computer animated film prepared for Expo '90 in Osaka, visualizing photosynthesis and muscle movement at the molecular level, and discuss current work on micro-CT imaging of developing tomato plant leaves. He will also show mathematics visualization of curves that cover a square and a cube, and of turning a sphere inside out. Finally, he will briefly discuss optimizing plane fitting to segments in multi-view stereo image reconstruction.
个人介绍:
Nelson Max is a professor at the University of California, Davis/Livermore.and a computer scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His research interests are realism in nature images, molecular graphics, computer animation, and 3D scientific visualization. He served as computer graphics director for the Fujitsu pavilions at Expo 85 and 90 in Japan. Nelson received his PhD in mathematics from Harvard Universityin 1967 and is a member of ACM Siggraph.
