Biobibliography

Dr. Zhongding Jiang established the Computer Graphics Laboratory and serves as its director at College of Information Technology, Fudan University . After fresh out of State Key Lab. of CAD&CG, Zhejiang University in 2004, he joined the College of Information Technology, Fudan University to establish the lab that is currently has ten graduates and nine undergraduates. 

Dr. Jiang received his B.S degree from the College of Computer Science & Technology of Zhejiang University in 1998. Then he continued his study at State Key Lab of CAD&CG, Zhejiang University. He did his Ph.D study under the supervision of Prof. Hujun Bao and Prof. Lizhuang Ma. He is a member of ACM Siggraph and IEEE Computer Society. He worked at the Visual Computing Group at Microsoft Research, Asia as visiting student in 2000. He also worked at Computer Science & Engineering Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong as a Research Assistant from Aug. 2002 to Feb. 2003. 



 

 

 

Research Interests

I am now doing research work on large-format multi-projector display systems. We are now investigating methods of embedding imperceptible visual patterns into the projected images, and building new algorithms for geometry calibration and color correction for displaying images on everyday surface.  The final goal is to design and implement one autonomous computing architecture of multi-projector display system that has self-management capability.

Another active research project was granted from Microsoft Research Asia under the research theme “ Gaming & Graphics”. The project aims to build image-based rendering engine for graphics intensive applications on mobile platform, such as mobile 3D games.  Our method adopts panoramic video as the primitive of scene representation, and uses the recovered geometry proxy for rendering perspective correct images.  We propose methods to recover the coarse model of scene geometry using distance measurement. Novel data compression and streaming techniques are also investigated for building practical systems.

I have done some work about Computer Vision, Computer-Aided Geometric Design and Scientific Visualization since 1999. They include super-resolution, swept volume modeling, 4D data field rendering and water equation visualization.
