BIOGRAPHY:

Shengyou Lin was born in November. 1976, Minqing, Fujian Province. He entered the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University in 1994 and received his B.S.Degree in 1998. After more than two years's study of his master degree, i.e., in Mar. 2001, he became a 5.5-year(??) doctor student and entered the state key Lab. of CAD&CG.
Under the supervision of Prof. Jiaoying Shi, his current research is concentrated in image processing and computer vision, especially in the matting problem which is used widly in the film and video industry.
Here is his beautiful hometown. I love it!

RESEARCH:

  • What is Digital Matting?
  • History of Edge Detection.

Click to see more... Color Edge Detection
Edge detection is one of the basic pre-processing methods in digital image processing. It is one of the most important algorithms which enables the further processing. We propose a new color edge detection algorithm based on Human Vision System.
Click to see more... Fast Natural Image Matting
Further, we use our alpha estimating method into natural image matting.
Click to see more... Perception Based Alpha Estimation
We find a simple but practical alpha estimating method.
