Deformation Space
deformation is flexible and intuitive tools for shape modification and soft
object animation. My space deformation researches focus on following two
problems (1)
How to make deformation control intuitive and
convenient? (2)
How to generate the satisfied rather than
aliased deformation results? |

2D
Shape Blending 2D shape blending is to
transform a source shape to a destination shape. The 2D shape is described by
2D polygons or curved polygons. There are two key problems in the 2D shape
blending: corresponding problem and interpolation path problem. Our research
is a new attempt to solve the second problem by using the visual feature
concept. |

Set Methods for Geometric Modeling Level set method is a
powerful mathematical tool to deal with interface evolution. It has been
introduced into geometric modeling area. Our ongoing research is to tackle
two problems in practical application of level set methods (1)
Can we make it real-time? (2)
Can we capture geometric detail with acceptable
cost? |

Geological Modeling Unlike traditional
geometric modeling in CG and CAD, 3D modeling of geological structure is
un-manifold, non-linear, complex and un-predictable. It seems that it is
difficult to find a general solution for it, as NURBS to CAD/CAM. Thus our
work is pertinence rather than generic. It is my new research direction. |
