Logo审美计算及在视觉营销中的应用

Applying standard design principles in computational aesthetic evaluation of Logos (in progress)

Abstract: Computational aesthetics has become an active research field in recent years, and there have been however few attempts to apply standard design principles in computational aesthetic evaluation. In this study we define a group of metrics to evaluate several perspectives in Logo design such as balance, contrast and harmony, then we validate our computational evaluation by regressing those variables on human evaluations of the same perspectives. Finally we regress  beauty ratings obtained by human on those variables to show that  a high correlation of  79.9% between human and computational evaluation of Logos. Our work provides a reference framework for quantitative aesthetic evaluation of Logo design, which partially emulates the human aesthetic perception of Logos.
