　　Abstract: with the rapid development of data acquisition and network technology, the increasingly high image dimensions make the image-based feature extraction technology see widely application to many fields, such as image recognition, image retrieval and document clustering. This report mainly introduces the description, measurement and application in image recognition of image-based data diversity.
　　Introduction to Associate Professor Gao Quanxue: a visiting scholar at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2006-2007. Now he works at the School of Telecommunications Engineering of Xidian University, mainly engaged in pattern recognition, machine learning and feature extraction technology. At present, he is the subeditor of many international journals likeIEEE Trans. Neural Networks, IEEE Trans. SMC-Part B, Pattern Recognition and domestic journal like Acta Automatica Sinical.
